The app locates the nearest recycling location, and awards you points by checking in at public recycling bins, scanning a barcode, or selecting an item. For commercial users it uses bag barcodes and RFID tags to help municipalities, property managers, or homeowners track their recycling. It is designed to make the recycling process as easy as possible, and because each item generates points it is designed to foster competition between users. This is the gamification of recycling.
